Alice Milliat Association (France)

The Alice Milliat Association was created in 2015 with the objective of contributing to achieve a fairer place for women in the world of sport whether in the field and within governing bodies.

To this end, the association promotes women sports practices by ensuring media exposure and effectively supporting new projects, actions and operations towards these goals. In 7 years, it has emerged has a major structure dedicated to these themes in France, federating many actors around this cause at the national and European level. The organization has been coordinator of the Erasmus+ Sport project “European Women and Sports Day'' in 2016 in partnership with UISP: Unione Italiana Sport Per Tutti (Italy), Kenninscentrum (Netherlands), Fundaçao Sporting Clube de Portugal and ISCA: International Sport and

Culture Association (Denmark).

This project aimed at implementing diverse actions promoting women's sports in Europe through the creation of a connected running challenge, the organization of conferences, the publication of a book as well as the collection of 60 examples of good practices related to women and sport across Europe.

The association is currently an active partner of two Erasmus+ projects: “Fair Coaching” with the purpose of fighting sexist, violent and discriminatory behaviors in sports thus ensuring a healthy and inspiring sport environment for professional and young athletes; and the project "Empowering Women for Sport event in Europe" (EWSE) that seeks to create a European network of women sports events and enhance their positive social, cultural, economic, and environmental impact.

On these two projects, the Alice Milliat Association is collaborating with ASSIST, also present in this consortium. At the national level, the Alice Milliat Association is working closely with major actors of the education system such as the UNSS (National Educational Sport Union), USEP (Sport Teaching Union in primary school) and with the Ministry of National Education, Youth and Sports. As part of the call for projects “Impact 2024”, the association has been involved as a partner to develop a pedagogical kit with partners present on this project (L-VIS, UFOLEP, French National Sport Museum), and this initiative was recently granted the label “Generation Equality Voices” by ONU Femmes France (UN Women France).
